About Jim
The Jim Tudini Band is the most recent project for bandleader and
Canisius High School music teacher Jim Tudini.
A member of the Buffalo Musicians Association - Local 92 and
Greater Niagara Musicians Association - Local 106-209,
Jim is a first call baritone saxophone player who has played everywhere
from Carnegie Hall, to Paris, to Concerts by the Sea in Redondo Beach.
Jim started this latest venture as a way of pulling together a cadre of known
talent in order to have some fun and entertain fans, both new and old.
Tudini's music career spans five decades and dates back to the fifties
when the then nine-year-old began playing saxophone. When he was touring, Tudini
was with the Tommy Dorsey band, that took him through, in his words,
"Every city in this state and every state in this country." Gigs on the
local scene, where he has stayed put these past twenty years, have taken him to
various local venues such as Shea's, Kleinhan's, Melody Fair, playing with the
Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Doc Severinson Big Band. Some of his
other homegrown band projects included the bands Perfect Circle and Skylight.
Tudini calls this latest endeavor, The Jim Tudini Band,
"A group of friends who happen to be some of the best musicians I know.
It's the gathering of a lifetime."
